Basingstoke Canal, UK
Rather than head abroad for the long weekend we decided to spend the three days with friends cruising the Basingstoke Canal on a narrowboat. We hired the boat from Galleon Marine just near Hook, a town about 1 hour south east of London. The crew consisted of Penny, Kris, Rosie, Mike, Ben and us.
It was a relaxing weekend on the water, the scenery so green and beautiful. The ducklings and cygnets so cute. Lunch and dinner consisted of brilliant pub meals with us stopping randomly along the canal. The lock, lift and swing bridge were fun with good novelty factors.
The only downside of the weekend was the rain. It didn't stop all day Sunday or Monday.

Stay tuned..... there are plenty of stories and photo's to come......so watch this space!
