Always look on the bright side of Battle!
The past week has been busy, busy, busy. We have been like little bees collecting nectar to make honey!! Buzz, buzz, buzz!!!!
The week in brief:
Monday 26 November 2007
Geoffrey arrived today, a little jet-lagged but more than excited to be in the presence once again of Rob & Lou (we kick ass)!!! It's been almost 2 years since we have seen Geoff and it's been great catching up with him again. Rob has another little nerd to play with....Lou has someone equally as keen to pick on Rob as she is!
Tuesday 27 November 2007
An overcast night, slight drizzle and an eerie feel to the air so we ventured to East London for the Jack the Ripper walking tour. The monopoly board is correct having Whitechapel as a cheap dodgy area. It was a great tour with many interesting facts learnt...for instance; the City of London (about 1 mile in diameter) still to this day has its own police force (as opposed to the Metropolitan police) with neither having any right in the others jurisdiction. And, Jack the Ripper is dead, he is not in Las Vegas with Elvis. Given the tour concluded near Brick Lane we took Geoff for a curry and the essential barter like Brick Lane experience.
Wednesday 28 November 2007
Dinner tonight was quick bite to eat at a little Italian cafe before watching Les Miserables at the Queen's Theatre. This is one of our favourite shows and once again proved why it is so fantastic!

Thursday 29 November 2007
With Geoff out catching up with mates, Lou getting drunk with work colleagues, Rob spent the night at home all alone with his second best friend, Ham & Pineapple Pizza. Yummy!
Friday 30 November 2007
Rob took the day off to spend sightseeing with Geoff. On the agenda, the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and some more places on the Monopoly Board. Ah, and not to forget Greenwich. Our evenings entertainment was Spamalot. Spamalot is a musical based on Monty Python's quest for the holy grail. What a great night! Very funny! Still singing "Always look on the bright side of Life".

Saturday 1 December 2007 The Battle of Hastings in October 1066 in which Harrold and William fought for the English throne goes down in history as one of the most monumental times in history. The Battle took place outside Hastings in a little town called 'Battle'. Battle is approximately an hour from London and is a beautiful little town seeped in history. We spent hours walking around the field where the battle took place and the abbey ruins which were originally built in memory of the battle.

That evening we got into the festive season putting up the Christmas Tree (usb but very pretty), eating roast, cracking crackers and letting Rob have first go at the advent calendar.
Sunday 2 December 2007
Not having had enough sight seeing Geoff took off again today whilst we slept in and did absolutely nothing. The highlight of the day however was heading to Somerset House at 7pm for an hours ice-skating. It was very festive and great fun.

That concludes Geoff's first week with us! This week should be a little quieter with the focus on the countdown to our weeks skiing/riding in France. Next weekend we are off to Munich with Team Gilbert while Geoff is off seeing more of what the UK has to offer. Happy Days!!!!!
