Moreton Island

December 27th saw us get on the combie to Moreton Island for 3 days of sand, salt and sun filled fun and relaxation. The agenda for the first day included sand boarding and sand eating. Swimming was compulsory in places such as the Blue Lagoon (a freshwater lagoon) (aka the Poo Lagoon), the Pacific Ocean and the Champagne Pools (aka the Champoo Pools). Much of the same followed for day 2 and 3. Day 3 also saw us climb the highest coastal sand dune in the World - Mt Tempest, which offered 360 degree views of Moreton and back to Redcliffe, Straddie and Brisneyland. Very inspiring. Bitey things were also in abundance with snakes (diamond pythons and green tree), dolphins, sharks, goannas, spiders, Manta Ray and turtles. As we took the easy option and went with a tour group (thanks Sunrover Tours), all our meals were prepared for us; we had a tour guide (awesome work Wes!) who drove us around the island showing us the sights so the only thing we had to work on was our tans. Awesome 3 days - bit hard being back in civilisation.

Happy 2006 everyone! You are all in our thoughts.
